چکیده

We propose a new, human consistent method for the evaluation of similarity of time series that uses a fuzzy quantifier base aggregation of trends (segments), within the authors’ (cf. Kacprzyk, Wilbik, Zadrożny [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6] or Kacprzyk, Wilbik [7, 8, 9]) approach to the linguistic summarization of trends based on Zadeh’s protoforms and fuzzy logic with linguistic quantifiers. The results obtain are very intuitively appealing and justified by valuable outcomes of similarity analyses between quotations of an investment fund and the two main indexes of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

An approach to the linguistic summarization of time series using a fuzzy quantifier driven aggregation

We propose new types of linguistic summaries of time-series data that extend those proposed in our previous papers. The proposed summaries of time series refer to the summaries of trends identified here with straight line segments of a piecewise linear approximation of time series. We first show how to construct such an approximation. Then we employ a set of features (attributes) to characteriz...

Linguistic Summaries of Time Series: on Some Extended Aggregation Techniques

We further extend our approach to the linguistic summarization of time series (cf. Kacprzyk, Wilbik and Zadro ny) in which an approach based on a calculus of linguistically quantified propositions is employed, and the essence of the problem is equated with a linguistic quantifier driven aggregation of partial scores (trends). We proceed towards a multicriteria analysis of summaries by assuming ...

Arithmetic Aggregation Operators for Interval-valued Intuitionistic Linguistic Variables and Application to Multi-attribute Group Decision Making

The intuitionistic linguistic set (ILS) is an extension of linguisitc variable. To overcome the drawback of using single real number to represent membership degree and non-membership degree for ILS, the concept of interval-valued intuitionistic linguistic set (IVILS) is introduced through representing the membership degree and non-membership degree with intervals for ILS in this paper. The oper...

TREND-CYCLE ESTIMATION USING FUZZY TRANSFORM OF HIGHER DEGREE

In this paper, we provide theoretical justification for the application of higher degree fuzzy transform in time series analysis. Under the assumption that a time series can be additively decomposed into a trend-cycle, a seasonal component and a random noise, we demonstrate that the higher degree fuzzy transform technique can be used for the estimation of the trend-cycle, which is one of the ba...

A Multi-Criteria Analysis Model under an Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Environment with an Application to Production Project Decision Problems

Using Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) to solve complicated decisions often includes uncertainty, which could be tackled by utilizing the fuzzy sets theory. Type-2 fuzzy sets consider more uncertainty than type-1 fuzzy sets. These fuzzy sets provide more degrees of freedom to illustrate the uncertainty and fuzziness in real-world production projects. In this paper, a new multi-criteria ana...
